Tan Lap floating village is just popular in recent years, but attracts a lot of tourists, especially young people. Like travelling to Mekong Delta, tourists can be relaxed in nature, far way the hustle and the bustle of cities.
How to get there?
From the centre of Ho Chi Minh city, just 100km to Long An, you can get there by bus, car or even by motorbike.
By public bus: There are a lot of buses from Saigon to Long An, but only one bus directly from District 8 ‘s Bus Station (62-11) to Tan Lap Station.
By private transport: Go along the National Road 1A to Tan An city, Long An province, then continue to follow National Road 62, visitors will arrive in Tan Lap floating village.
Where to stay?
Just developed in recent years, so there is not much hotels in this area. Tourists have the ability to hire a local hostel or motel in Kien Tuong downtown. Besides, have a camping is also an interesting experience for young people.
What to see at Tan Lap floating village?
The entrance into the Tan Lap Village is through the Cajuput forest, named Rach Rung (or Rung Canal). This 5km long path and 10-floor observation tower are considered as the highlights of the eco-tourism site. Besides, there are many other functional areas such as environmental education, natural reserve, wild animal migration, floating houses on stilts, park, pier…
On the way to the village, visitors can enjoy a fresh and peaceful atmosphere of nature. Many branches of route will bring you to stroll around the village. However, designed by the heart construction, don’t worry to be got lost.
Tourists can walk on cement paths or go along the river by boat. During October and November, this is a great occasion for you to admire the blooming of lotus flowers. Among an immense of the forest, the combination of trees, flowers and many species of birds, all create a simple and picturesque scenery.
In addition, visitors also have the opportunity to explore cultural identity of local people through traditional crafts (wood carving, boat building…), Don ca tai tu – Vietnamese traditional music, Go Thap Festival…
