Known as the land of ancient temples, Cambodia has not only the system of Angkor, Silver Pagoda, there are also interesting things to discover. PhnomPenh and Siem Reap are two of popular destinations in Cambodia. However, the shopping in PhnomPenh is cheaper and hustler than in Seam Reap.
We will highly recommend favourite markets and shopping centres for tourists:
Cambodian tourism has been invested and developed in recent years. There are many kind of goods with famous brands such as Gucci, Louis Vuiton, Zara,… and even from Vietnam, Thailand, China,… Be careful for its origine!

1. Sorya Shopping Centre (13-61, South of Phsar Thom Thmei, Trasak Phaem (St. 63), 12208 Phnom Penh)
This is the largest market in Phnom Penh and the most favourite shopping centre in Phnom Penh. You can see Cambodians there who would rather take the stairs because they are inexperienced in the use of elevators. The Sorya Mall is air conditioned and is a pleasant place for a shopping spree. Be aware that the Sorya Mall is very well visited during weekdays but on weekends and on public holidays the mall is packed with young Cambodians. For a hassle free shopping experience we suggest you to visit the Mall on weekdays to make your purchases.
2.Central Market (Phsar Thmey; Kampuchea Krom (St. 128), 12252 Phnom Penh)
Not far from the Sorya shopping centre, this market is a popular for shopping of tourists. Most stalls in the market offer a lot of souvenirs such as Krama traditional scarves, household, postcard, Tshirt, etc. Visitors have chances to get products which are made from Cambodia. This is undoubtedly one of the best of Phnom Penh’s markets. It is the cleanest and has the widest range of products for sale. Opening hours are from early morning until early evening.
Because of being a crowded place, be careful about your bags. There are thieves around this area “Caveat emptor”.
According shoppers, you can easily find branded goods at Lucky and Wexport stores.
3.Russian Market (Phsar Toul Tom Poung; 163, Phnom Penh, Campuchia)
More commonly referred to by foreigners as the Russian Market, this is located in the south of Mao Tse Tung Boulevard. It is the best place in town for souvenir shopping, having a large range of real and fake antiquities. Items for sale include miniature Buddha’s, silk, silver jewelry, gems, etc. Clothes such as t-shirts, trousers, jackets or shoes are very reasonable. Be careful with fake items!
4.Old Market D – Phsar Chas
The market is very busy, the vendors constantly come up to you and many stalls sell the same things. It is suitable for those who love the the vibrant atmosphere and the bargains.
5.Phsar Reatrey Night Market (at the corner of Sisowath Quay street and Oknha Ing Bun Hoaw street)
Like any market in Phnom Penh, visitors can find anything, but the price of goods is not much expensive than at the Central Market. Besides, food stalls and music performances take place vibrantly at night.
You should bargain a half of the price at any market for your shopping. Don’t be afraid, the vendors are very friendly.
