Well-known for the highest peak in the Southeast Asia at the height of 3.143 m, Fansipan is an ideal place of many adventurers, for those who love to conquer the natural challenges in Vietnam. In this Sapa Vietnam travel blog, I will share my unforgettable adventure to Fansipan mountain.

Conquering Fansipan is in the list of challenges of many young tourists

I did the trip with 2 other friends and a local guide. We were extremely excited for the first time to have an adventure over the mountain roads up to the Fansipan mountain in Sapa. With a limited health and time, we decided to do it at the easiest level in 2 days. Instead of using the cable car to the peak from Sapa town, we started at Tram Ton pass after reaching Sapa in the previous days.

Have a good preparation before the trip – the first thing to do in my Sapa Vietnam Travel Blog

As I mentioned in the previous posts, have a good preparation is the first thing that my friends and I pay attention at the most. Your health should be well-prepared before the trip. It would be a good idea to practice some exercise to get a tough constitution, such as walking, jogging, etc. Don’t miss to bring medicines, sunscreen, first aids,… Besides, the weather is also an important feature during your trip. The best time to do this whole trekking is in April and May when the weather is good, neither cold nor rainy and you will also have a clear view over the beautiful valleys with flowers in bloom. Moreover, bringing only necessary stuff (warm clothes, 3-4 small bottles of water for each person, flashlight, mosquito spray, etc.) and preparing trekking shoes would give you the most comfortable trip. That’s all, we were ready to start and wondered what was waiting for us behind the journey.

Our itinerary – unforgettable experiences with local people and friends

It is not easy to do it, so be well-prepared before the trip is highly recommended in my Sapa Vietnam travel blog

At 6 AM after having a light breakfast, follow the friendly guide we started to head up to the Fansipan mountain. We were super happy in front of the gate to Tram Ton Pass, the starting point of the trek. As we have known before, we have gone in the mid-April. The path looked really nice when we still have had energy to enjoy. It was alright at first but after a couple of hours trekking, we started feeling tired. take only 5 minutes break to have a foot massage, we continued for our big goal. The route became tougher but extremely beautiful. There were many pretty little streams on the way. Crossing the streams, we needed to keep our shoes dry to avoid the following steep roads.

Along the way, we have had chances to meet and got an acquaintance with other tourists, porters and some H’Mong people. Already tired but still happy to take photos and pose. Had a quick lunch that we have prepared before (bread with boiled eggs, tomato, cheese) on the road and enjoyed the nice view from the camp when it was not rainy or too foggy in 40 minutes. After that, it was so scared for us to encounter non-stop steep rocks, through a forest.

Reaching the camp of local people at the height of 2.800 m where we had dinner and spent a cold night. It was dry that we have done camp fire with our guesthouse. I cannot miss those experiences and hospitable people that I have ever met during the trip in my Sapa Vietnam travel blog.

We finally conquered the highest peak in the early morning of the following day. Although it was not too easy to conquer, we made it. How can we describe that feeling? Superb, surprised and proud.

However, we were extremely happy what we have done when being on the top of the mountain

Going down was easier, it took us only 6 hours. When getting back to Hanoi, our feet were in terrible condition. It took us 3 days for relaxing, but we still very happy what we have done.

In my Sapa Vietnam travel blog, that would be an unforgettable experience. Try once as you are enough young to do it. Contact me (84-8) 38 388 382 for further information.
