To be the third largest city in Vietnam (after Ho Chi Minh city and Hanoi capital), located in the central, close to Hue – 3 hours North and Hoi An – 30 minutes South, Da Nang is a perfect stop point for those who would like to have a break along the trip Hoi An – Da Nang – Hue. Like another region in Vietnam, Da Nang owns many attractions to the North and South ends of the city.
If you have a chance to come to Vietnam, we highly recommend these destinations that you should not miss:
The Marble Mountains
The Marble Mountains (“Ngũ Hành Sơn” in Vietnamese) is far from 9 km south of Danang city center. This is a cluster of five hills which is made from limestone and marble, is named after the elements metal, wood, water, fire and earth. There are many peaks, caves, tunnels and temples all just waiting to be discovered. This landscape refered to ancient folklore and even Vietnamese War.
The Marble Mountains are home to several Buddhist sanctuaries and places of worship dotted across the mountains which are a much-visited spiritual site.
Among the five, Thuy Son, the mountain of water, is the highest one and also the main attraction. At the foot of the mountain, tourists can also visit the Non Nuoc Village which is famous for stone sculptures and handicrafts.
Son Tra Peninsula
Only 13 km away from the center of Da Nang city, this is a typical tourism of Vietnam along the coastline: full of beaches with white sand, untouched natural scence with transparent sea and a vast diversity of plants and animals.
If tourists have a chance to Son Tra, do not forget to stay at villages built on the mountains where you can find a peaceful atmosphere and even overlook the beautiful beaches under the sunshine in the summer.
The bridge is over the Han River. The best moment to actually visit is Saturdays and Sundays at 9pm because it breathes fire. From the bank of the river, tourists can see the stunning and sparkling beauty of the city at night.
Han River Bridge
Likely Dragon Bridge, Han River bridge is over the Han River. This is a cable-stayed bridge that is lit up brightly at night. It’s the first swing bridge to be built in Vietnam and play an important part of Danang’s cityscape.
If Paris has the Eiffel stunning tower where is attracted by tourists, in Danang the highlight is the beauty of bridges at night.
Ba Na Hills
50 km from Da Nang city to the West, Ba Na Hills is considered as Dalat or French village because of its temperate climate and beauty. To get to the top of Ba Na mountain, we highly recommend to take the cable car. It’s a good way to look over a huge scenery of Da Nang city, Hai Van Pass, Son Tra Peninsula, My Khe Beach, Marble Mountains, Thu Bon River, Cu Lao Cham Island. What exciting! Today, Ba Na is a destination of thousands of domestic and foreign visitors.
